Work Package 8: Linkage to Global Health Research Networks

This Work Package aims to establish a strong national network. The goal is to align the project’s pathogen genomic sequencing efforts with Africa CDC's Institute of Pathogen Genomics and to foster collaborations with other networks and initiatives in the fields of epidemiology surveillance, laboratory and bioinformatics, such as RISLNET, Africa Pathogen Genomics Initiative, ASLM, ASBCB, PHA4GE, PANDORA, EGHRIN, LERU, EDCTP, and The Global Health Network. The promotion of women in data science and capacity-building through partnerships with WiDS and Women in Global Health network, as well as postgraduate training through CARTA and other networks, is also prioritized.

  • 1. Build a replicable and scalable digital pathogen genomic intelligence network between public health institutes, clinical labs, hospitals, and universities.

    2. Harmonize the development of EPGEN with ongoing regional, continental, and international pathogen genomic surveillance networks.

    3. Support capacity building for research through knowledge exchange and communities of practice with global health research training networks.

  • 1. Harmonization and networking.
